Julie Ditty Relocates to Lexington, KY to Work with the UK Tennis Coaches

Lexington.     Julie Ditty began her pro tennis career after graduating from Vanderbilt University in May of 2003. She moved to Saddlebrook Resort and began training with Pat Etcheberry as her fitness coach and Jimmy Brown as her tennis coach. In July of 2002 she was ranked 1140 in singles on the WTA world ranking list. After one year on the circuit she is currently ranked 329 in singles and 249 in doubles.

      On May 25, 2003 she relocated to make her home base Lexington, KY where she will work with Coach Mark Guilbeau, the head coach of the UK Women’s Tennis Team and Carlos Drada, the assistant coach of the UK Women’s Team.

      Julie is excited to return to Lexington where she attended Lexington Christian Academy in the eighth and ninth grade. While playing for Coach Maryanne Simmons Julie won the Kentucky State High School Tennis Championship as an eighth grader over Jackie Trail in the finals.

 While living in Lexington she worked with Coach Dennis Emery of the UK Men’s Tennis Team. After working with Coach Emery Julie was ranked as the number one player in the US in the 14’s.

     She later won two more Kentucky State High School Singles Titles as a junior and senior while playing for Coach Melissa Epling of Russell High School. After graduating from RHS she became a  three time All-American for Vanderbilt University and helped Vanderbilt defeat the reigning National Champions of  Georgia to advance to the finals of the NCAA.
